Prof. Dr. Manfred Matzka, retired head of the Federal Chancellery, is Of Counsel at the international law firm LANSKY, GANZGER, GOETH + partner (LGP) and advises on public administration issues. From 1999 to 2016, he was the highest administrative official in Austrian civil service. Manfred Matzka was responsible for h.r., law, e-government, administrative reform projects, coordination as well as for interdepartmental projects, but also for protocol and state decorations and the supervision of state owned companies. The doctor of law looks back on a long career in public service, which began in 1980 in the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery and then continued in the Ministry of the Interior. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of Bundestheater-Holding, Vice President of Austrian Standards and teaches on several Universities. During the Bierlein government, he was personal advisor to the Federal Chancellor. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur.).
