In 2013, LGP acquired an Astana-based subsidiary, Lansky, Ganzger & Partner Kazakhstan LLP. By simultaneously establishing a local branch, LGP has succeeded in continuously expanding its client base in Kazakhstan. We offer on-site legal assistance by our Kazakh lawyers. LGP served numerous high-profile clients in the region, inter alia:
- We advised the transnational transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss on the acquisition of a Kazakh transport company. A due diligence was performed and the approval of the antimonopoly authority for the economic concentration was obtained.
- We provided tax advice to the Austrian oil company OMW on issues including transfer pricing, current VAT refund and VAT refund for investments in the pre-production phase.
- We provided a long-term legal support to Schulz Systemtechnik GmbH, a German service company in the field of renewable energy in the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MW in Agadyr, Karaganda.
- We represented the Kazakh company Bolat Issatayev v. Maersk in arbitration proceedings under UNCITRAL rules.
- We provided full legal support for the relocation of an Austrian lens sales business from Moscow to Almaty, overseeing the share acquisition process.
- We represented a Slovak investor in court proceedings in Kazakhstan.
- We have successfully advised clients on migration law for many years, assisting foreign business migrants in obtaining a C5 visa and supporting Kazakh citizens in securing visas for Austria.
