Roman Bevzenko's is one of the most experienced specialists in the field of Russian civil law, with thirty years of solid legal practice to his name. Before joining LGP Roman headed Private Law Department of the Supreme Commercial Court of the Russian Federation (from 2008 to 2014) and was a partner in a major Russian law firm (2014-2024) dealing with major civil law cases.
He holds the degree of doctor of law since 2022. He was involved in drafting and discussing the Concept for the Improvement of Civil Legislation and the new edition of the Russian Civil Code
In recent years, Roman added to his specialisation sanctions law. He was involved in a large number of cases involving the Western sanctions regimes, as well as countersanctions (special economic measures) imposed by Russia in response to them. Roman was a key figure in several successful projects, challenging the EU, USA and Canada's personal restrictions.
Roman has more than 140 academic publications to his name, including eight monographs, on private law problems. These have been devoted to real estate law, pledges and mortgages, set-off, suretyship, guarantees and so on.
